I Need You to Tell Me Why

Does this happen in your family, too? And if so, WHY?

It is pouring down rain, and we are all racing to get into the 4Runner without getting soaked. The guys have all gotten in and I am trying to hurry Grace along into getting her arms in the straps so I can buckle her in. I'm still standing halfway in the rain, and Josiah says, "Mom, can you open that window [indicating the moon roof cover]?"

Jason is sitting in the driver's seat, inches away from the handle of the moon roof cover. I am still outside the car--at the back seat--and yet I am the one who gets asked.

This is not an isolated incident. The kids do this all the time. This is just one of the more exaggerated circumstances.

Why do you think they do this?

I wish I had the answer to that question. Matter of fact I'm still trying to figure that out. It seems like they can only focus on us. Everything else is tuned out. Mommy is the only one who can and will do it and do it right. We should feel so special.

Oh Amy!! I don't think there is a logical answer to this question, other than we must have 20 invisible arms that are only visible to someone under the height of 4 feet... ALthough I must say my husband who's 6'4" seems to have the eyes of a child when it comes to the things that he thinks I can accomplish at one time!
If you find a better answer PLEASE let me know...
